Ting-Yi Huang, LMFT 87929, brings over 9 years of experience in mental health services. Her professional experiences include:
- Psychiatric social worker, San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, serving severely mentally ill patients
- Bilingual mental health counselor, Pyramid Alternatives, serving court-mandated anger management and domestic violence clients and Medi-Cal clients
- Institutional programs manager, Pyramid Alternatives, serving at-risk youths in San Mateo County Juvenile Halls
- Forensic mental health counselor, San Mateo County, serving severely mentally ill inmates at Mental Health Court
- Substance abuse counselor, Fort Help Methadone Clinic, serving patients with severe alcohol and other drugs addiction

Family Therapy Experience
Ting Yi's exceptional skills as a family therapist are evident in her work with families, including O. K.'s family. Despite initial concerns about finding a therapist who could work effectively with the whole family, including a picky teenager, Ting Yi proved to be the perfect fit. Her ability to be patient, a great listener, and skilled at diffusing tense situations made her sessions enjoyable and productive.
Professionalism and Support
Laura Fitzpatrick's experience with Ting Yi was also overwhelmingly positive. She praised Ting-Yi's professionalism, warmth, welcoming nature, and empowering approach, which made her feel comfortable and supported throughout their therapy sessions.
Disappointing Experience
Unfortunately, Simona M.'s experience with Ting Yi was quite the opposite. She felt that Ting Yi did not take her job seriously, as she failed to respond to Simona's repeated attempts to cancel an appointment and request a bill statement. Simona criticized Ting Yi for making excuses rather than addressing her concerns.
