Our History

Sierra Counseling Center has been in operation since 1997, making us one of the oldest and most respected counseling centers in the region. Our founders, Craig and Nancy Merrill, have been married for over 40 years and have a deep understanding of the importance of family and relationships. Their commitment to providing compassionate and effective counseling services has been the guiding principle of our center since its inception.

Our Staff

Our team consists of a diverse group of skilled therapists and counselors who are dedicated to their work. Our staff includes:

• Craig Merrill, MA, MFT, LADC, our owner and director, who has over 30 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and couples.
• Mickey Alegria, Ed. S, MFT, LADC, who facilitates groups in Spanish and English.
• Judy Humphrey, MA, MFT, who is a facilitator for domestic violence.
• Vick Lillegard, MA, LADC, who is a substance abuse counselor and facilitator for domestic violence.
• Sarah Baker, MFT Intern
• Natasha Lazaro, MA, MFT Intern
• Marie Marshall, Admin. Assistant

At Sierra Counseling Center, we offer a wide range of counseling services designed to meet the unique needs of our clients. Our services include:

• Substance Abuse/Dependence counseling in English and Spanish
• Domestic Violence counseling in English and Spanish
• Anger Management counseling in English and Spanish
• Marriage and Family Counseling
• Individual counseling sessions

Cost of Services

We offer competitive pricing for our counseling services, with the following rates:

• Individual counseling sessions: $150.00 per hour
• Group counseling sessions (1.5 hours): $30.00 per session
• Substance Abuse groups (1 hour): $25.00 per session
• Discounts are available for clients with financial concerns and for our MFCT Practicum Students and CACD Interns when available.

Acceptance of Insurance

We accept most major insurance groups and welcome Medicaid clients. We also offer discounts for multiple program attendance and/or programs paid in full at outset.
