Our approach is grounded in establishing a therapeutic relationship and in adapting cognitive-behavioral strategies to each person's unique circumstances. We aim to support confidence and skill-building in a manner that incorporates your way of seeing things, your passions, and your strengths.

About Us

Dr. Steven Kane is a licensed psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience in special education, residential treatment, and clinical settings. He holds a Ph. D. in Human Development from the Catholic University of America and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Clinical Research Training Program at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kane is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus and has provided training and consultation to various organizations, including the Jubilee Association of Maryland and Floreo Inc.

Services

We specialize in supporting and teaching skills to individuals of all ages who are struggling with social and relationship skills, academic/vocational functioning, and independent living challenges. We provide the following services:

• Individual psychotherapy
• Family consultation
• Group therapy (when possible)

The majority of our clients are individuals diagnosed with autism, learning disabilities, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, who may have co-occurring anxiety, depression, or problems with self-control. Our work is focused on:

• Learning to navigate the social world
• Developing interpersonal relationships
• Meeting expectations at school or work
• Becoming self-sufficient
• Coping with emotions

We will provide you with a consent form and information about our current fees, as well as a statement of our privacy practice. We are an in-network provider with Medicare and a credentialed provider with Tricare. We are not in network with any private insurance companies, but we will submit to your insurance company for out-of-network benefits if you would like us to.
