We all have an inherent drive to grow and evolve, and I believe that healing and change are truly possible. My work is oriented around resetting the healing capacity we all carry within ourselves. I specialize in a number of therapy techniques to address life's challenging issues, including attachment-based theories, Somatic Experiencing Technique, EMDR, and Mindfulness.
About Me
I have been practicing psychotherapy in Marin County for over 25 years, supporting clients to move out of overwhelm and back into their natural state of resiliency. I have great faith in the therapeutic process and know from experience that healing and change are truly possible. Some of the modalities I work with include attachment-based theories, Somatic Experiencing Technique, EMDR, and Mindfulness.
Clinical Areas
I specialize in a number of therapy techniques to address life's challenging issues. Some of the areas I focus on include:
- Somatic Experiencing: Trauma can affect us all at some point. Chronic stress can take its toll on the body and mind, and under certain circumstances, we may become so overwhelmed that it's difficult to regain a sense of wellbeing. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented therapeutic model applied in multiple professions and professional settings-psychotherapy, medicine, coaching, teaching, and physical therapy-for healing trauma and other stress disorders. It is based on a multidisciplinary intersection of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics and has been clinically applied for more than four decades.
- Stress, Anxiety, and Depression: Stress and anxiety can be overwhelming, and chronic stress can take its toll on the body and mind. Under certain circumstances, we may become so overwhelmed that it's difficult to regain a sense of wellbeing. You may feel tired, worn out, sad, irritable, forgetful, anxious, or depressed. Yet hardwired within us is the capacity to move back out of this state and into resiliency once again.
- EMDR/Flash Technique: Discover the effective technique of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a psychotherapy treatment originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR has been widely researched and is now recognized as an effective treatment for trauma and other mental health issues.
- Postpartum/Parenting: This isn't what I expected. Parenting can be challenging, and the transition to parenthood can be overwhelming. It's common to feel sad, irritable, forgetful, anxious, or depressed during this time. I can help you navigate these challenges and find a sense of resiliency.
