Empower yourself to move forward with vitality and ease
I am a licensed clinical social worker, specializing in experiential psychotherapy, and providing counseling services in New York and Connecticut. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome anxiety and depression, relationship distress, self-esteem issues, self-sabotaging behaviors, and the lingering impact of early attachment wounding and developmental trauma. My approach is grounded in the belief that each of us has an innate capacity to heal, grow, and thrive.
As an experiential psychotherapist, I embrace a range of therapeutic techniques, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. I combine traditional modalities with experiential and body-centered approaches, incorporating the latest understanding of neuroplasticity and brain change. My goal is to help you access your deep inner strengths and resiliencies, become unstuck, and move forward in life with vitality and ease.
About Molly
My journey to becoming a psychotherapist began after spending 15 years in the corporate world and several years as a stay-at-home mother and yoga teacher. I returned to graduate school in 2004, earning a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University in NYC. My clinical training included psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, and motivational interviewing. I have worked in mental health agencies in Connecticut before focusing on private practice in 2010. In 2017, I moved my practice to the Upper West Side of NYC. I am licensed in New York and Connecticut and have been practicing remotely since the pandemic.
My commitment to growth, both personally and professionally, drives me to continuously seek out and train with innovators in the field. I am a certified Advanced Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) therapist and supervisor, a certified Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) therapist, a Positive Psychology practitioner, and a level 3 Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. I am also a certified AEDP supervisor, helping to train clinicians in AEDP. Additionally, I am currently training in Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), a method that distinguishes trauma from early attachment wounding and addresses the impact of unmet early attachment needs. My work is further informed by ongoing interest and study in mindfulness and yoga.
