Who We Are

Family Ministries Center Hawaii is a tax-deductible 501(c)3 ministry dedicated to bringing hope and healing to individuals, couples, and families in Hawaii and beyond. We also offer consultation services to churches, educational institutions, and businesses.

Our Vision

Our vision is to strengthen individuals, couples, and families psychologically and relationally, allowing them to fully realize their potential as God intended. We also aim to provide teaching, research, curriculum, and consultation to institutions to empower them to better serve their clients.

Individual Counseling

• Therapy for a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems.
• Support for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Couples Counseling

• Strengthening communication and intimacy.

Family Counseling

• Family therapy for various challenges.

• Consultation for churches on enhancing their programs and outreach.

Our Team

Our team of experienced and licensed therapists is passionate about helping people reach their full potential. We believe in providing compassionate and individualized care, tailored to meet each client's unique needs.

Hale Akamine, PhD, FACFE, FACPS: With over two decades of experience, Dr. Akamine is a highly respected clinical psychologist and expert in various mental health issues. He has also served as an adjunct faculty and published numerous research papers and book chapters.
