Excellence in Substance Abuse Therapy

At Genevan English Speaking Psychology Practice, we believe that awareness is the greatest agent of change. As a Clinical Psychologist, I, Maria Huchberger, aim to support and help you make the changes you'd like to make in your life. With over twelve years of experience in the British National Health Services, I have worked with people from all walks of life, supporting them with depression, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and pain management using a cognitive-behavioral approach.

My move to Switzerland in 2012 led me to work with children on an individual basis and in groups, conducting workshops on anti-bullying and empathy within international middle school settings. Upon completing the Co-Active coaching course, I began working as a coach to help people navigate stress and find fulfillment and balance in their lives. Additionally, I co-led workshops on wellbeing in organizations. After obtaining my equivalencies to practice in Geneva in 2019, I started my English-speaking therapy practice, primarily supporting members of the expat community.

As a bilingual Swedish/American/British individual who has lived in several countries, including Germany, Sweden, the USA, Switzerland, and the UK, I understand the impact of numerous relocations and the expat life. This understanding enables me to comprehend the additional factors that expatriates may bring to therapy. My practice offers clients a space for support, sharing, connection, reflection, learning, and transformation.

Consultations take place primarily in English, but I am fluent in Swedish and have a working knowledge of German and French, allowing clients to communicate in any of these languages.
