At Community Counseling and Education Center, we have been a trusted and respected provider of mental health services for over 37 years. Our mission is to provide low-cost counseling to the Santa Barbara community by matching incoming clients to highly skilled trainee and associate therapists in our Clinical Training Program.
Our Story
Founded by Patricia Cooper and Jaclyn Henretig, our organization has a long history of commitment to the community. Our founders were determined to provide a space where all members of the Santa Barbara community could access quality mental health services, regardless of their ability to pay. With the generous support of clients who had experienced healing through our work, Community Counseling and Education Center was born.
Our Services
At CCEC, we offer a range of services designed to support the mental health and well-being of individuals, couples, children, teens, and families. Our bilingual counseling staff consists of associate therapists and graduate student trainees working under the guidance and supervision of some of the area's most knowledgeable and experienced clinical staff.
Our therapists are trained to help clients in numerous ways, including managing challenging and painful life situations in healthy, healing ways; providing tools for enhanced communication; or identifying and halting self-defeating coping mechanisms. We are committed to supporting our clients in actualizing a happy, healthy, and rewarding life.
Clinical Training Program
Our Clinical Training Program is one of the most respected training centers for graduate students and associate therapists who want to learn the art of process therapy. Our trainees and associates work under the guidance, training, and direction of our experienced clinical staff.
