Empowerment Through Partnership

If you're considering couples counseling, you've taken the first step toward reclaiming your relationship and experiencing a deeper level of love and devotion than you ever thought possible. At Santa Cruz Marriage, Couples, and Individual Counseling, we believe that it's never too late to work on your relationship, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

Do We Need Counseling?

It's not uncommon for couples to experience distress in their relationship. Anxiety, depression, poor health, impaired parenting, affairs, and even divorce can result from unresolved conflicts and unmet needs. However, it's important to remember that you don't have to settle for a relationship that doesn't meet your needs. With the help of a licensed therapist, you can learn to communicate more effectively, establish deep emotional and physical intimacy, and eliminate painful repeating arguments. At Santa Cruz Marriage, Couples, and Individual Counseling, we're here to help you reclaim your relationship and experience the love and devotion you deserve.

How Does It Work?

At Santa Cruz Marriage, Couples, and Individual Counseling, we use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), a detailed and in-depth training in becoming emotionally available to yourself and your partner. Developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, EFT combines the latest research about human bonding with leading-edge discoveries about the neurobiological roots of behavior. Research studies find that 70-75% of couples who have completed EFT move from distress to recovery, and approximately 90% show significant improvements.

EFT requires dedication and courage, but the opportunity to feel a deeper level of intimacy with your partner is well worth the effort. Through EFT, you'll learn to share deeply and honestly with each other in an environment of safety, healing old patterns of distress and distancing that we bring with us from our childhoods and past relationships.
