What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a computer-assisted learning therapy that helps train brain behavior. It's a painless, non-invasive treatment that uses sensors to detect brain waves, which are then monitored by an electroencephalogram (EEG) monitor, amplifier, and computer-based instrument. During treatment, you use your brain waves to control a video game on the computer screen. This process helps train your brain to function more efficiently, resulting in improved self-regulation and better overall functioning.
Why Does It Work?
Neurofeedback addresses cognitive symptoms by training the brain to become more efficient in areas such as attention, emotional regulation, and cognitive processing. Our brains are wired to respond to external stimuli, and neurofeedback helps rewire the brain to respond in a more positive, adaptive way.
What is It Used For?
Neurofeedback is used to address a wide range of conditions and symptoms in which the brain is not working as efficiently as it could. These include ADD/ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, learning disabilities, and more. Our goal is to help individuals, couples, and families develop the skills and strategies necessary to live happy, fulfilled lives.
