Our Mission
Black Mountain Counseling Center exists to make mental wellness accessible to everyone in Western North Carolina. We provide compassionate and affordable therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, and families.
Our History
Founded in 2007 by Ellen Begley, Jack Culbreth, and Bill Christian, Black Mountain Counseling Center began as a response to the lack of accessible mental health services in the Swannanoa Valley. Today, we are the only nonprofit mental health organization in the area.
Our Approach
We believe in providing compassionate and individualized care to meet the unique needs of each client. Our therapists utilize evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients achieve lasting change.
