Westport Counseling Associates

Westport Counseling Associates is a faith-based counseling agency that specializes in providing in-home therapy services for children in foster care, or families in crisis whose children have been placed into state custody. Our mission is to work toward reunification of the family, focusing on trauma-informed intervention for attachment issues, depression, anxiety, family violence, drug and alcohol addiction, and grief. We are proud to serve the greater Kansas City area, offering our services both virtually and in-person.

Parent Aide Services

At Westport Counseling Associates, we understand the importance of family reunification and the critical role that parent aides play in this process. Our parent aides are dedicated to serving the needs of parents and children in the community. They provide transportation and oversight for supervised visits, make observations of parent-child interactions, and provide helpful coaching and feedback. They also offer short-term, outcome-focused, teaching and modeling services to families, based on individualized behavior management plans. Crises intervention for children and their families is also provided as needed.

Our Counselors

At Westport Counseling Associates, our diversified staff provides a full array of services to individuals, couples, and families. Sessions are offered weekly both in the home and office setting. Off-hour appointments can be arranged to suit the client's needs. Our licensed therapists are all members of the appropriate professional associations, such as the American Mental Health Counseling Association, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, National Association of Social Workers, and National Association for Certified Counseling.

Faith-Based Approach

At Westport Counseling Associates, we believe that true healing comes from the Great Physician. Our approach is faith-based, but clients can specify if they don't want faith-based sessions. We respect and honor the beliefs and values of each client and family seeking services.
