At Masterful Couples of Northern Virginia, we understand the importance of building strong, healthy relationships. As a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist, our commitment is to help couples build stronger friendships, manage differences respectfully, and support their hopes and dreams. We believe that every individual is capable of and deserves compassion and empathy, and it is our goal to help couples cultivate greater love and intimacy in their relationships.
Our Approach
At Masterful Couples, we believe that working with couples requires different skills and training from working with individuals. Our approach is centered on the principles of the Gottman Method, which integrates leading-edge research on relationships into practical, down-to-earth counseling for couples. We use evidence-based techniques and strategies to help couples manage perpetual issues and conflicts, and to develop a deeper understanding of each other.
Our Services
Our services are designed to meet the unique needs of each couple. We offer bi-weekly 90-minute sessions with the option of an additional 30 minutes of support, as well as flexible scheduling to accommodate your busy schedule. We provide thorough individual and relationship assessments and treatment plans, as well as tools and resources to help couples cope with challenges such as infidelity, attention deficit, hyperactivity, impulse control, depression, and anxiety.
Expertise
Our expert, Ingrid, has extensive experience working with couples and is certified by the Gottman Relationship Institute. She has a Master's degree in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in Nonviolent Conflict and Change from Syracuse University. She has also completed additional training in attention deficit disorder and mood disorders.
Accreditation and Insurance
As a licensed professional counselor, our services qualify for client reimbursement, and may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. We accept many insurance plans, including Anthem, Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and more.
