Our Mission and Philosophy

At North Star Counseling, our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals, couples, and families can receive the help they need to overcome life's challenges and achieve their goals. We believe that every individual has the potential to grow and heal, and we are committed to helping them achieve their full potential.

Our Services

Our team of licensed therapists includes licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs), and licensed professional counselors (LPCs). We offer a range of services, including:

Individual Counseling

We offer individual counseling services to adults, teenagers, and children, addressing a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges. Our therapists work with clients to identify and work through their problems, and develop coping strategies and skills to improve their mental health and well-being.

Couples Counseling

Our couples counseling services are designed to help partners improve their relationship and communication skills, address conflicts, and work through relationship challenges. Our therapists work with couples to identify and address issues, and develop effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.

Family Therapy

Our family therapy services are designed to help families address a variety of issues, including communication challenges, conflict resolution, and parent-child relationships. Our therapists work with family members to identify and address issues, and develop effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.

Group Therapy

We also offer group therapy services for individuals who are struggling with similar issues, such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. Group therapy provides a supportive environment where individuals can share their experiences, receive support and guidance from others who are going through similar challenges, and develop coping strategies and skills to improve their mental health and well-being.

Our team of therapists includes:

• Mark B. McOmber, LCSW: Mark is the founding director of North Star Counseling and has over 30 years of experience in the field. He specializes in individual and couples therapy, and has extensive experience working with adults and teenagers.
• Mark David McOmber, LCSW: Mark is a licensed therapist with a specialization in individual and couples therapy. He has experience working with adults and teenagers, and has a particular interest in working with families.
• Emilio Hernandez, LMFT: Emilio is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a specialization in working with children, teenagers, and adults. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and has extensive experience working with diverse populations.
• Les Lucas, LMFT: Les is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of experience in the field. He has a specialization in working with children, teenagers, and adults, and has extensive experience working with families and couples.

About Our Office

Our office is located in Clovis, California, and provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for individuals, couples, and families. Our office is designed to provide a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, with comfortable seating and natural lighting. We are easily accessible by car, and have ample parking available.
