The Youth and Family Counseling Agency of Oyster Bay-East Norwich is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, community-based organization that has been serving the community for nearly five decades. Established in 1969, YFCA is committed to providing high-quality mental health and social services to children, adults, and families in our communities. Our mission is to provide a helping hand, a warm meal, and a safe harbor to individuals and families who are struggling with a life crisis, mental illness, or substance abuse.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of services, including:

• Behavioral Health Services: Counseling, therapy, and support groups to address mental health concerns
• Substance Abuse Services: Assessment, treatment, and support services for individuals struggling with addiction
• Family and Children's Services: Counseling and support services for families and children, including parent-child home program
• Crisis Intervention: 24-hour hotline and in-person support for individuals in crisis

Our services are provided in a safe, confidential, and culturally sensitive environment, with a team of highly trained and experienced professionals. We are proud to offer services in English and Spanish to serve the diverse needs of our community.

Our Team

Our team includes highly qualified professionals with extensive experience in their respective fields. Our Executive Director, Barbara Rakusin, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience in the provision of clinical and administrative services. Our Clinical Director, Susan D'alesandro, is a licensed clinical social worker with expertise in diagnosing and treating addictive disorders. We also have licensed counselors, social workers, and mental health professionals who provide services to our clients.
