Pathways Professional Counseling

Pathways Professional Counseling is a non-profit ministry of Alabama Baptist Children's Homes & Family Ministries, dedicated to providing Christ-centered counseling services to individuals, youth, and families across the state of Alabama. Our mission is to help seek solutions to their problems through professional and affordable counseling. We offer a range of services, from individual and group counseling to premarital counseling, marriage enrichment seminars, and assistance with parenting skills, divorce recovery, and adoption/foster care issues.

Our Services

At Pathways Professional Counseling, we recognize that healing comes from God, and we strive to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where individuals and families can find the peace and contentment they seek. Our services include:

• Christ-centered Counseling: We offer counseling for children, youth, unmarried adults, married adults individually, married adults as couples, and families. Our counseling services are grounded in Christian values and principles, and we seek to help our clients find hope, healing, and restoration through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Creative Techniques for Counseling Children: We understand that children often struggle to express their feelings and emotions verbally. That's why we offer creative techniques for counseling children, such as play therapy, art therapy, and sand tray therapy, to help them communicate their thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment.
• Premarital Counseling: We believe that marriage is a sacred institution, and we want to help couples build a strong and healthy foundation for their relationship. Our premarital counseling services are designed to help couples identify their strengths and weaknesses, communicate effectively, and build a strong and lasting bond.
• Marriage Enrichment Seminars: We offer marriage enrichment seminars to help couples strengthen their relationships and deepen their connection. Our seminars cover a range of topics, including communication, conflict resolution, intimacy, and forgiveness.
• Parenting Skills Assistance: We recognize that parenting can be challenging, and we want to help parents build the skills and confidence they need to raise healthy, happy, and well-adjusted children. Our parenting skills assistance services are designed to help parents develop positive discipline techniques, build strong relationships with their children, and navigate the challenges of modern parenting.
• Divorce Recovery: Divorce can be a difficult and painful experience, and we want to help individuals and families navigate this challenging time. Our divorce recovery services are designed to help individuals find hope, healing, and restoration after a divorce.
• Adoption/Foster Care Issues: Adoption and foster care can be complex and emotionally charged experiences. We offer counseling services to help individuals and families navigate the unique challenges of adoption and foster care, including attachment issues, grief and loss, and identity formation.
