Empowering individuals and couples to thrive in life

As a licensed psychologist, I created this website to share my passion for helping others and provide you with information about my therapeutic approach and services. I believe that everyone deserves the chance to live a fulfilling life, and I'm committed to helping you achieve that. In this page, I'll introduce you to my practice, my therapeutic approach, and the services I offer.

What is Therapy and How Does it Help?

Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a collaborative process between the therapist and the patient. It's a chance to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or other challenges, therapy can help you develop coping skills, gain insight into your behaviors, and learn new ways to manage your emotions. Some benefits of therapy include:

  • Finding resolution to the concerns that led you to seek therapy
  • Learning new ways to cope with stress and anxiety
  • Managing anger, grief, depression, and other emotional pressures
  • Developing skills for improving relationships across the board
  • Improving communication and listening skills
  • Gaining a better understanding of yourself, your goals, and values
  • Changing old behavior patterns and developing new ones
  • Improving your self-esteem and gaining strength to cope with life

How Does it Work?

If you're considering therapy, I recommend starting with a brief phone or video consultation. This is an opportunity for us to discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and determine if my therapeutic approach is a good fit for you. If not, I'll gladly refer you to other qualified professionals.

Once we decide to work together, we'll typically meet once a week for 50 minutes. In sessions, we'll explore your current concerns, your personal history relevant to the issue, and report progress (or new insights gained) from the previous therapy session. Depending on your specific needs, therapy can be short-term (focusing on a specific issue) or long-term (providing a deeper understanding of the underlying issues causing your symptoms).

My Therapeutic Approach

As a psychodynamic therapist, I consider the distinct problems that bring you into treatment, your circumstances, cultural background, lifestyle, and stage in life. I approach each new therapy with a fresh eye and a curious attitude, wanting to understand you as a unique individual. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

I believe that understanding the underlying issues causing your symptoms is crucial for lasting change. By exploring these underlying issues, you'll gain a deeper understanding of yourself and develop the tools to cope with life's challenges. I also believe that active participation in the therapy process is essential for achieving meaningful results.

Confidentiality and Fees

As a licensed psychologist, I'm committed to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all professional standards. Regarding fees, I'll discuss the costs with you during our initial consultation. Insurance coverage may also apply.

If you're considering therapy, I encourage you to contact me and schedule a consultation. I'm passionate about helping others, and I'm confident that my therapeutic approach can make a positive impact on your life.
