You are only one thought away from a life of well-being
At Pine Meadow Counseling (PMC), we believe in the "health of the helper" and the Three Principles: Mind, Consciousness, and Thought. We are dedicated to teaching happiness and well-being, and we understand that, in order to do so, we must first embody these principles in ourselves. We value simplicity, quieting the mind, and sharing peace and tranquility with those we come in contact with. We strive to capture the innocent essence of childhood in our work.
About Pine Meadow Counseling
PMC was founded in 1994 by Steven and Renee Crouch. In 2008, it became a non-profit 501c3 organization, allowing us to partner with local colleges and expand our services into underserved areas. Our team has extensive experience in the health care industry, having worked in administrative roles, managing psychiatric units in hospitals, and recruiting emergency room physicians. We also have experience in mental health, both as administrators and practitioners.
Steven and Renee met while working in the same department at college and married 6 months later. They have a shared passion for the helping profession and for the Three Principles approach. After attending a "Psychology of Mind" workshop in 1997, they were introduced to a new way of understanding and addressing mental health and personal growth. This approach had been proven effective in various settings, including community revitalization, the Department of Corrections, drug and alcohol treatment centers, and schools.
Our Approach
At PMC, we take a different approach than traditional medical or self-improvement models. We teach and coach individuals to focus on possibilities, not problems, by using the principles of Mind, Thought and Consciousness. By pointing to these principles, the human experience can shift, bringing forth feelings of health, hope and happiness.
Through our services, we aim to create a transformative experience that allows individuals to realize their innate well-being, resilience, and capacity for growth. Our approach encourages self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-compassion. We believe that every individual has the capacity for change and that, with the right understanding and support, they can create a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Services Offered
1. Counseling: We offer individual, couples, and family counseling services for a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. Our approach is grounded in the Three Principles and emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, self-care, and self-compassion.
2. Workshops: We offer psycho-educational workshops for both children and adults. These workshops focus on the role that thought plays in our lives and how a shift in understanding can turn problems into possibilities, obstacles into opportunities, and hurt into healing.
3. Catalyst: Catalyst is a group program for kids and teens that meets 3 hours per day, 3 days per week. This positive peer group experience shows youth how a shift in their understanding of the role thought plays in their life can have extraordinary results. Parents are encouraged to participate in our weekly parent night.
4. Consulting: We offer consulting services for organizations interested in implementing the Three Principles approach in their work. Our consulting services include training, coaching, and program development.
At PMC, we are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that is tailored to the unique needs and goals of each individual. We believe that healing and growth are possible for everyone, and we are honored to be a part of that journey.
