Melody Mortenson is a licensed clinical social worker with over 16 years of experience in the mental and behavioral health field. She has a passion for helping others and has spent her career serving and successfully treating a wide variety of clients and diagnoses. With a master's degree in social work from the University of Arkansas, Melody brings a unique blend of knowledge, experience, and compassion to her work.

Holistic Approach to Counseling

Melody's client-centered approach is holistic, friendly, non-judgmental, and draws upon knowledge of various theories and therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Perspective, Positive Psychology, EMDR, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and alternative therapies like Color Therapy, Aroma Therapy, and Smile Therapy. Melody has found that the best way for her to help others help themselves is through acceptance, enhanced by knowledge and experience.

Mental Health Evaluation and Diagnosis: Melody conducts comprehensive mental health evaluations and diagnoses to help individuals better understand their mental health and develop personalized treatment plans.

Insurance and Payment Options: Mortenson Counseling is in-network with several major insurance providers, including BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Aetna, UMR, Optum EAP, Mutual of Omaha EAP, and Ambetter. Reasonable sliding scale options are also available for those without insurance.
