Our Mission

At Catholic Human Services, our mission is to strengthen northern Michigan by providing life-enhancing services to individuals, families, and our community. We believe that every person deserves access to quality care, regardless of faith, income, or circumstance. For over 50 years, we have been committed to making a difference in the lives of the people in Northern Lower Michigan.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. Our services include:

• Mental Health Services: We provide individual, family, and group therapy to help individuals and families cope with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma.
• Substance Abuse Services: We offer counseling services to individuals and families struggling with addiction, as well as support groups and educational programs to prevent substance abuse.
• Adoption Services: We provide adoption counseling and support services to help families build their families through adoption.
• Employee Assistance Program: We offer confidential counseling services to employees and their families to help with work-life balance and personal issues.
• Senior Services: We provide support and resources to seniors and their families, including counseling, support groups, and educational programs.

Our Programs

We offer a variety of programs to support individuals and families in our community. Some of our programs include:

• Up North Prevention: This initiative aims to advance substance abuse prevention efforts in northern lower Michigan by developing a unified approach across a large geographic service area.
• Prime for Life: This program is designed to help individuals and families affected by addiction, providing a comprehensive approach to recovery.
• Family Counseling: We offer individual, couple, and family therapy to help families build stronger relationships and overcome challenges.
• Senior Volunteer Program: This program provides opportunities for seniors to give back to their community through volunteer work.
• Home Based Services: Our home-based services provide support and resources to individuals and families in the comfort of their own homes.

Giving Back

At Catholic Human Services, we believe that every contribution makes a difference. Here are some ways you can give back:

• Client Assistance Fund: This fund provides financial assistance to individuals and families who cannot afford our services. Donate here to help reduce the cost of care for those in need.
• Educational Programming: Your donation can help cover the costs of interactive youth drug prevention classes, continuing education for service providers, and motivational alcohol and drug prevention events at local schools.
• Expanding Programs and Services: Your donation can help us expand our services, including our marriage counseling program, which will serve at least 300 families per year.
